We're looking for a Material Handler to join our Oshkosh client at a busy fabrication company. This role is a vital part of their weld shop, where you'll be responsible for keeping materials and finished products moving smoothly and safely.


Position – Material handler

Job Location – Oshkosh

Starting Date – ASAP

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) –  1st shift

Starting Pay – $18 to $20 per hour

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience


Responsibilities

- Fills out work order paperwork accurately, verify piece count, reference drawings to confirm, in a timely manner.

- Kit welding jobs per bill of materials by referencing part numbers, drawings, and customer work orders. Will likely involve a combination of stand-up fork lift operation and manually adding/lifting/stacking smaller parts.

- Move material to work stations as needed, remove completed work and stage for next process, bring correct skids required to a workstation and manage excess and damaged skid material.

- Stock weld wire in designated storage area based on multiple variations.

- Take owner ship of shop cleanliness, garbage and cardboard removal, floor sweeper, etc.

- In the event that all the above tasks are complete, assistance in grinding and packaging may be required.


Qualifications 

- Strong memory, ability to multi-task, good organizational skills, and strong attendance are a must.

- Stand up forklift experience is a plus, but not required – will train the right candidate.

- This individual interacts with everyone on the shop floor, so communication and interpersonal skills are critical.

- Ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, and enjoys a spontaneous and busy environment.

- Ability to read and understand measuring tools and equipment such as a tape measure, calipers and micrometer.

- Ability to perform math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions as well as convert fractions to decimals or vice versa.

- Ability to recognize and interpret colors according to the company’s classification system.

- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, as well as lift and move heavier objects with the assistance of cranes, forklifts, or another employee.
