Do you have a passion for journalism and online research? A local construction company is looking to add a Construction News Reporter to their team!

 

The ideal candidate is a detail- oriented communicator with strong research skills, able to navigate public records and industry sources, and comfortable interviewing contractors, architects, and public officials.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and report on upcoming construction projects, bid opportunities, and awarded contracts.

  • Monitor public bid postings, planning commission meetings, and municipal announcements.

  • Develop construction project profiles for the BXWI digital platform.

  • Verify project details for accuracy and relevance to members.

  • Collaborate with the editorial team to meet daily and weekly publishing deadlines.

  • Maintain professional relationships with industry contacts and public agencies.

  • Uphold editorial standards of accuracy, fairness, and clarity.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CMS platforms, and online research tools.

  • Prior reporting or editorial experience preferred, ideally in business, trade, or industry journalism.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and interviewing abilities.

 

1st shift hours, Pay is $15 an hour
