Material Handler
Location: Newport, MN
Type: Full-Time
Pay: $22–$27 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Friday 6:00 AM – Noon
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support our production and shipping teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing and handling materials, assisting with shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records, all while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling
Organize and store unloaded parts in designated areas for easy access by production teams.
Safely load finished goods onto trucks and semi-trailers, following standard operating procedures.
Keep accurate records of material usage, inventory levels, and any discrepancies.
Assist in loading and unloading shipments, utilizing pallet jacks to streamline workflow.
Forklift operation may be required.
Shipping and Inventory Management
Track and monitor inventory levels, assist with cycle counts, and coordinate with shipping and receiving to replenish supplies as needed.
Suggest process improvements, report inefficiencies, and contribute to problem-solving initiatives.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to construct shipping crates according to specifications.
Quality and Compliance
Perform routine inspections to ensure materials meet quality standards.
Report quality issues or discrepancies to the quality control team.
Maintain clear communication with team members and supervisors to resolve issues efficiently.
Other Duties
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Previous experience in a custom manufacturing environment preferred.
Basic understanding of inventory management.
Experience in woodworking, crate building, or related tasks preferred.
Ability to operate wood power tools.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
