Position – Powder Coat Painter

Job Location – Oconomowoc, WI

Starting Date – Immediate

Employment Term – Temp-to-Hire

Employment Type – Full-Time

Work Hours (Shift) – 1st Shift (6:30am – 5:00pm Mon-Thurs)

Starting Pay – Depends on Experience, $18+ per hour

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience – At least 1 years of experience

 

Powder Coat Painter applies dry powder to metal parts electrostatically, requiring surface prep (cleaning, blasting, masking), operating spray guns/booths, curing in ovens, and performing quality checks, while maintaining equipment and adhering to strict safety/quality standards in manufacturing settings for durable finishes.

 

Responsibilities

- Part Preparation: Cleaning, degreasing, sandblasting, masking, and hanging parts for coating.

- Powder Application: Operating electrostatic spray guns, hoppers, and booths to apply powder evenly.

- Curing: Loading/unloading parts from curing ovens, monitoring temperature and time.

- Quality Control: Inspecting parts for uniform thickness, adhesion, and defects; performing first-piece and in-process checks.

- Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning powder booths, guns, collection systems, and performing minor repairs.

- Safety & Housekeeping: Following all safety protocols (PPE, hard hats, respirators), keeping work area clean, and managing powder waste.

- Documentation: Completing required paperwork and production logs.

 

Qualifications

- Experience in industrial painting, powder coating, or manufacturing.

- Ability to operate specialized coating equipment.

- Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to follow instructions.

- Knowledge of surface prep techniques (blasting, cleaning).
