POSITION – Applications Engineer

JOB LOCATION – Ozaukee County, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediate

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Direct-Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 1^st Shift

STARTING PAY – $80+k/year

BENEFITS – 100% company-paid insurance premiums, 401k match, & ample PTO

REQUIRED EDUCATION – AAS - Engineering

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 3+ years packaging industry experience

Review customer projects and determine machinery required to meet customer requirements. Complete projects within spec, on time, and within budget. Coordinate activities of engineering, sales, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Issue engineering proposals and performance guarantees based on product characteristics.

• Request customers to send in products for evaluation to ensure proposal can be issued correctly.

• Correspond with oversees branch to confirm proposals have correct pricing for machinery and parts.

• Prepare equipment purchase orders based on customer scales or stock scales.

• Assign customer, demo and show equipment based on required specifications.

• Maintains stock inventory and history of company equipment.

• Monitors progress of development project and compares actual costs with estimates.

• Works with design group to modify plans as appropriate.

• Study existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.

• Travel to customer locations as required to troubleshoot problems with machinery and/or products.

• Assist with OEM’s, interfacing, as well as optimizing the performance of packaging machine and scale.

• Assist sales team with training, proper quotes, and customer visits.

• Provide training for both new and existing personnel on company equipment. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical /electrical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

• 3-5 years industrial packaging experience, with strong mechanical aptitude and electronics knowledge

• Excellent communications, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Familiarity with ISO 9000 design requirements, experience with AutoCAD or similar mechanical CAD drafting package.

• Valid driver’s license and insurable

• Passport to travel outside of the United States.
