I'm currently engaged with a client that is in search of a Mechanical Designer. My client is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and they design and build custom machinery.
This is a high-level design position, often involving segments of complex equipment, mechanisms and/or processes. Position requires developing cost-effective solutions to problems in assigned areas of design or development projects. Contributes to evaluations, conclusions, and recommendations on projects within area of specialization. Work assignments have a significant impact on project objectives. Considerable creativity and initiative are required. Must display initiative in developing new approaches to solve technological problems. Occasional travel required.
An Associate Degree in Mechanical Design and a minimum of six years related experience. Must have proven experience in the engineer-to-order machinery industry (i.e. converting, printing, plastics, packaging machinery manufacturing). While the position is for mechanical design in nature, a basic knowledge of electrical components and systems is required. Also required is a working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
