Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Scotts Valley, CA
Pay: $38-$40/hr
About the job:
The Field Service Technician installs, maintains, and repairs control systems at customer sites, ensuring reliable performance and safety. This hands-on role supports troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and technical communication with customers and internal teams.
We’re looking for someone who:

Holds an associate degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent training)

Has 2–5 years of experience in field service, equipment maintenance, or electronics repair

Understands electrical and mechanical systems and can perform basic diagnostics

Is proficient with hand tools, multimeters, soldering, and ESD-safe practices

Communicates clearly and provides excellent customer service

Is willing and able to travel up to 50%, both domestically and internationally

(Preferred) Has experience working with semiconductor or high-tech equipment
-
(Preferred) Can read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals

(Preferred) Is comfortable using computers for reporting and diagnostics
What you’ll do:

Install and configure control systems according to established procedures

Perform maintenance, inspections, and calibrations to ensure optimal performance

Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical components, escalating complex issues as needed

Communicate service activities, findings, and timelines to customer personnel

Document service actions, replaced parts, and identified issues in company systems

Collaborate with engineers and internal teams to support product improvements and root cause analysis
-
Travel to customer sites as required (up to 50%)
