About the job:

The Senior Paralegal supports the legal team by managing customer disputes, regulatory complaints, and pre-litigation matters. This role leads internal investigations, organizes case facts, prepares responses, and collaborates closely with in-house litigation counsel and cross-functional teams.

 

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 8+ years of experience in customer dispute resolution and litigation support

  • Can independently lead investigations, gather records, and prepare clear factual summaries

  • Writes effectively and can draft complaint responses, legal holds, discovery objections, and settlement documents

  • Manages deadlines and proactively moves cases from intake through resolution

  • Communicates confidently with customers and resolves minor disputes directly

  • Supports litigation counsel with pleadings, motions, discovery, service, and case management

  • Maintains organized dispute files and prepares regular reports and metrics

  • Performs legal research on non-complex issues and applies findings to practical resolutions

  • Helps develop dispute resolution processes, templates, and playbooks

  • Identifies risks and escalates them appropriately to litigation counsel

  • (Preferred) Has experience responding to subpoenas, liens, and garnishments

  • (Preferred) Brings familiarity with payments technology, alternative payments, or financial services

 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead investigations and gather documentation for disputes, regulatory inquiries, and pre-litigation matters

  • Organize timelines and prepare factual summaries for internal stakeholders and counsel

  • Draft responses to customer complaints and support preparation of basic legal documents

  • Manage a portfolio of disputes and track deadlines, filings, and required follow-ups

  • Work directly with litigation counsel on case preparation, discovery, and resolution work

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date dispute files and produce status reports

  • Support creation of processes, templates, and tools to streamline dispute handling

  • Assist with subpoena and records-related requests as needed

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support risk mitigation and operational alignment
