Manual machinist
• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other various machines
• Interpret sketches, engineering drawings and blueprints
• Plans, devises and fabricates various tools, dies, gauges, jigs and fixtures within precise specifications.
• Measure and inspect finished parts for accuracy
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Document production activities and part specifications
• Collaborate with engineers and team members
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a manual machinist
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong understanding of machining processes
• Familiarity with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.)
• Ability to work in a standing job for 9 hours per shift.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Must have good work ethic, dependable to be at work on time and willing to support required overtime as needed.
