Warehouse Specialist, $17.00/hour - Norton Shores, MI


Job Summary: The Warehouse Specialist ensures that the daily operational functions of the warehouse facility run smoothly and efficiently. The warehouse specialist has direct oversight of critical warehouse functions including: Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control. The Warehouse Specialist must understand, apply, and oversee all relevant procedures relating to these activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Warehouse Specialist:

  • Validate received materials are a quantity and quality match against vendor invoices

  • Create and implement a plan to maintain an organized/clean warehouse

  • Monitor inventory levels and manage re-orders to prevent operational disruptions

  • Understand the weekly inventory control process and assist in planning and organizing counts

  • Assist in reconciliation of inventory counts

  • Work in conjunction with Operations Manager on Inventory issues and solutions

  • Maintain accurate written production records

  • Perform other duties as required


Job Requirements of Warehouse Specialist:

  • Must be proficient in English, including ability to read, write, and speak English fluently

  • Ability to understand a large scale organization

  • Proficient in basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

  • High level of logical - mathematical intelligence, meaning the ability to calculate, quantify, consider propositions and hypotheses, and carry out mathematical operations

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with demonstrated abilities and problem solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage competing time demands.

  • Reliable and dependable, as demonstrated through excellent attendance in prior roles

  • Team oriented, with the ability to thrive in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships.

  • High level of attention to detail, including dealing with labels, numbers, and recordkeeping

  • Ability to work and thrive in a culture dedicated to process improvement, teamwork, respect, and safety


Qualifications of Warehouse Inventory Clerk Position:

  • Previous experience with Inventory Control Systems / ERP required

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training

  • Hi-Lo experience preferred

  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Programs and/or Google Applications

  • Strong work ethic and solid work history
