Inventory Clerk $DOE 1st shift

 

 

 

SUMMARY

Receives, stores and issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools and compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard by performing the following duties:

MR1. Responsible for Operation and Maintenance of stockroom, including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

PS #1. Count, sort or weigh incoming articles to verify receipt of items on purchase order or invoice.

PS #2. Examine incoming materials or items to verify conformance to specifications.

PS #3. Place/store all items in designated bin locations.

PS #4. Fill/issue supplies from stock inventory.

PS #5. Compiles reports as required, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.

PS #6. Marks identifying codes, figures or letters on items/articles.

PS #7. Distributes stock among production workers, keeping accurate records of materials used.

PS #8. Maintain inventory and stock records.

PS #9. Issue stock order jobs to manufacturing as required to maintain stock on hand levels.

PS #10.Coordinates & supervises the annual physical inventory with the on site operations manager and the corporate finance department.

PS #11. On an ongoing basis, identifies obsolete and excess inventory and advises the corporate finance department; dispose of such inventory when instructed.

MR2. Responsible for housekeeping and maintenance of stockroom.

PS #1. Keep area clean and orderly, floors swept and trash collected.

PS #2. Maintain clear aisle way through stockroom

PS #3. Trash receptacles are emptied regularly.

MR3. Responsible for shipping arrangements and paperwork.

PS #1. Making arrangements with required trucking/shipping company for pick-up and delivery of loads, trailers or skids.

PS #2. Prepare all required paperwork, packing slip, bill of lading, in timely and proper fashion.

PS #3. Where required, build boxes, crates or skids for shipping components to customers.

PS #4. Enter all shipping information in system, J.E. weights of individual items.

MR4. Responsible for Additional Tasks as listed.

PS#1. Purchasing of shop supplies required for daily operations maintaining an acceptable inventory level.

PS#2. Purchasing health and safety items for the entire plant maintaining an acceptable inventory level.

PS#3. Maintenance of MSDS records, distribution and archiving.

PS#4. Assist in covering purchasing duties during any absence of Buyer.

PS#5. Acts as back-up to Spare Parts Sales position when needed

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Some inventory knowledge preferred

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Other Skills and Abilities

**Must understand and use a computer and relevant programs (ie. excel, word, outlook, Syteline).

Physical Demands

**While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
