Warehouse Worker, $13 – North Austin, TX

 

Job Summary: The role of the Warehouse Worker is to assist the Warehouse Manager in the day to day operations of the warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Warehouse Worker position:

  • In the initial training period (3 weeks – 1 month), employee will be assigned to the Shipping Area, and will be required to read a work order, verify the accuracy of the order, pack the order, and attach appropriate label(s) to box for correct delivery.

  • After initial training period, employee will begin picking orders for shipment. Will obtain pick ticket, and use manual process (pen, paper, shopping cart) to locate correct warehouse location (bin system) and pull appropriate item numbers and volumes for customer orders.

  • Safely maneuver warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, dollies, rolling carts, and 2 step ladders in order to pick and prepare orders for shipment.

  • Learn correct procedures for safely handling a firearm, including accurate receiving and recording.

  • Unwrap and put away inventory from Receiving Area into correct warehouse location.

  • Restock returned merchandise into correct warehouse location.

  • Load and unload trucks.

  • Count boxes and track inventory as needed.

  • Within first 6 months, learn and recognize products and inventory, as well as correct procedures for all warehouse areas.

  • Other duties, as assigned, to accomplish team goals.

  • Physical requirements: must be able to utilize hands and finger to handle, grasp, maneuver, and carry boxes, must be physically able to stand, twist, bend, and do repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs at a fast pace.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.

Qualifications for Warehouse Worker position:

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • At least 6 months of prior experience in manufacturing/industrial/general labor environment preferred, not necessarily in a warehouse environment.

  • Basic math skills

  • Experience with firearms is helpful, but not required.
