Production Line Lead On the Bus Line!

Position Overview:

Employee serves as support to the supervisor and assists with daily set up, positioning of employees on each line, distributing breaks, and filling in for shortage of staff.

Specific Duties:

  • Assist with setting up and tearing down assembly of parts for each line

  • Memorize all kitchen chains, chucks, and horn sizes for every product

  • Learn to set up all product lines with correct chain length, chuck and horn

  • Make sure each line is adequately staffed

  • Assist supervisor in documenting all down time

  • Troubleshoot minor problems with equipment.

  • Follow all Safety, GMP’s and SSOP’s procedures.

  • Serves as a back up for key positions: operator, tier, hanger, weight analysis, and trolley pusher for breaks or short staffed

  • Checks in all parts at the end of day and storing properly

  • Perform other duties assigned in order to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this position

  • Must be trained in Safety, HACCP and SQF Protocol

  • Must be LOTO trained as an Authorized employee

  • Must be able to obtain Certification for Forklift

  • Punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of their department

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED with experience in related field preferred in a high volume manufacturing. Demonstrated experience and strong commitment to meeting internal customer requirements and continuous improvement objectives.


Language: Ability to read and interpret documents and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from personnel inside the company.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited direction exists. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or other form.


Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, organize, and prioritize workload, excellent internal customer service skills


Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. To perform assigned duties the following will occur: Standing on ones feet for long periods of time, walking, and lifting. The employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.


Safety and Potential Job Hazards: Slips, trips and falls; Cuts, lacerations, pinches; Amputations; Electrical shock; Strains; Flying debris; Kickbacks from machines. All safety gear must be properly worn and all safety rules must be followed to assist in avoiding the above potential injuries. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action.


Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a cold, wet environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually below 85 db for a time weighted average of 8 hours.
