SUMMARY: Performs routine servicing and lubrication of trucks and other automotive or mechanical equipment; performs minor and moderately complex mechanical work and assist the mechanic(s) with journey level maintenance and repair work on trucks and other automotive equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other related duties may be assigned.
Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Must be able to pass a Criminal Background
Must Pass a pre-employment physical
Must have Steel Toe Boots
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Entry level diesel tech - can be recently certified with at least 6 months externship.
Schedule is 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (Mon-Fri)
Must be available to work overtime when needed
